Beat the Expert - Week 3 : fixtures for 26th November 2011
No chimes from Little Ben as he loses out to The Expert again!
For the second successive week The Expert claimed victory over Little Ben. The Expert used his superior local football knowledge to comfortably win 7-4 and take an overall 15-12 lead after week three of their prediction tussle. “I knew he would crack,” said the ultra confident Expert. “He thought when he beat me after week one – the job was done. Well it’s a marathon, not a sprint and as I said before the cream always rises to the top at the end. What mind games will he try this week? I’ll answer that – panic button!”
'Little Ben' loses out as The Expert draws level
Radio Pembrokeshire programme manager, presenter, local personality and general ‘Mr Nice Guy’ Ben Stone discovered the harsh realities of trying to tip the results in the first division of the Pembrokeshire League on Saturday.
Ben managed that single point from seven matches but was a little fortunate that ‘The Expert’ managed just one point more to draw level at the half-way stage of their contest.
Our resident ‘Mr Grumpy’ might have taken a two point lead but for the fact that two goals scored in matches during time added on swung two games into draws when he had tipped a win. But he was still very upbeat, nonetheless, as he told us,
“That young whipper-snapper made a big mistake last weekend when he had the cheek to suggest that I was running scared. He was very lucky this Saturday and all his blather on Friday evening with Bill Carne was to no avail.
“I suggest he gets out of that chair and watches local football as I do, week in and week out – then he might, just might, have a chance against me.
“He knows that I have got inside his head now and there’s no chance of a tee-shirt for him, even if we had one to fit him!”
It was also interesting that The Expert had reverted to the ‘Little Ben’ sobriquet and we can’t wait to see how things pan out this Saturday!
Remember the format – there is one point for a correct forecast and a bonus point for getting the scoreline correct!”
Little Ben’s Forecasts:
Division One:
Goodwick United 3 - Hundleton 1
I think I missed a trick last week, tipping Narberth to beat Goodwick on their own patch - this time around, Bernie's boys to take all three points.Hakin United 2 - Narberth 0
There was nothing between Hakin and Merlins Bridge last time out but I think Hakin will get a win in this one.Haverfordwest County 1 - Tenby 2
Haverfordwest seem to be shipping goals at the moment - Tenby nearly beat Milford last time out and I think they'll take all three points here.Milford United 2 - Clarbeston Road 4
Milford picked up a point at Tenby last time out and I think they'll score goals here, but they won't win.Monkton Swifts 2 - Merlins Bridge 3
This won't be easy for the Bridge, but I think the league leaders will just have more in their locker.
Neyland 2 - Johnston 0
Home advantage gives Neyland the win here - it won't be easy though against a good Johnston team.
Solva 1 - Pennar Robins 4
I just think the Robins have goals in them and Solva have been conceding a few!
The Expert’s Scorecasts:
