Five goal Ed as County hit ten past Brecon
Brecon 0 - Pembroke County Hockey Club 10
Pembroke County travelled to their away game against Brecon, with County looking to continue with their winning form – and returning with a resounding victory.
The game started with County looking to stamp their authority early on in the game and stop any early attacks by Brecon. A solid back line of Paul Jewell, Mark Brimbacombe, Scott Lewis, along with keeper Gavin Bernard, ensured a clean sheet for the entire match.
County took the lead through Ed Clements who, shortly after doubled County’s lead after a quick hit out from the back by Paul Jewel that worked its way up the pitch, through the mid field, into the back of the net.
Goals galore in the second half
From half time, County came out with the message that if they increased the accuracy of their passing game and communicated more then they would score more goals.
After great build-up play and a one-two pass in the D, Dylan Williams scored County’s 3rd goal with Ed Clements also netting before a superb finish through the keeper’s legs by Sam Young led to County’s 5th goal with Ed Clements then netting another good goal.
After missing several chances earlier on in the game, Paul Tough scored two goals to put County 8-0 ahead before Ed Clements then rounded of his total of five goals. Good closing down of the goal keeper by Dylan Williams saw him grab his second goal to seal a ten goal victory for County. The South Hook LNG man of the match went to Ed Clements.
