On the ball: Harry Thomas.Harry tips off for Wales

A 12 year-old from Letterston has once again been picked to play basket ball for Wales.

Harry Thomas, who attends Ysgol Bro Gwaun in Fishguard, has  been chosen to play for the country’s under 15 team at the Lord’s Taverners’ Regional Junior Wheelchair Basketball Championships.

Harry, who only started playing the sport two years ago, first played for the team last year.

He is a member of Pembrokeshire Hurricanes wheelchair basketball club, which meets at Sir Thomas Picton leisure centre every other Friday from 3.30-5pm.

Angela Miles, disability sports development officer for Sport Pembrokeshire – Pembrokeshire County Council’s sports development arm – said she was delighted at Harry’s achievement,

“He has done very well especially for someone so young,” she said.

The championships will be held at the Stoke Mandeville Stadium in Buckinghamshire next weekend.
