‘Doc’ Holliday’s superb season recognised by The Town cricketers
Haverfordwest Cricket Club recently held its annual presentation evening and one of those quite rightly recognised for his outstanding achievements with the bat was Simon ‘Doc’ Holliday.
Holliday had amassed an amazing 940 runs in league cricket and a few 100 more in cup games so it was small wonder that he received the ‘Best Batsman’ award from club chairman Dave Loosmore, who acted as MC for the evening.
Speaking about some of the characters at the club in terms of current players was Bill Carne of PembrokeshireSport.co.uk and praise was also reserved for Ros Phillips, the club’s Cricket Secretary, who makes sure that all goes well on the cricket front.
In the unavoidable absence of first team skipper Huw Scriven, a resume of the season was provided by his vice-captain Karl Rhead, with Richard Scriven, Mark White and Paul Jenkins, as respective skippers of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th teams, also highlighting the performances in their team.
