Football’s coming home – to ‘Cosh’
Junior football has returned to the village of Cosheston, with financial support from the Pembrokeshire Community Chest Grant Scheme, local parents have been able to form the new Under 8s team.
The £924 grant was awarded to help establish the club and initially fund the start-up costs including facility hire, coach education courses and essential items of equipment.
The junior team - nicknamed the Strikers - have also received sponsorship from W.P. Lewis & Son, the local Vauxhall retailer and dealer based in nearby Milton which has provided funding for the new kit.
Stuart Lewis, long-time Cosheston resident and Dealer Principal of W.P. Lewis and Son, said: “We are delighted to be able to assist the Cosheston Strikers junior football team and I am particularly pleased that this team is based in my own village.
“I have already seen the enthusiasm of the organisers, coaches and the youngsters and we wish them every success for the coming season and beyond.”
