Hook Ladies snatch the silverware
Hook Ladies are the 2011 Ladies’ Cricket Champions of Pembrokeshire after they lost to second-placed Cresselly Ladies in their final match but still had enough points in hand to take the silverware.
Cresselly needed to bowl Hook out and win the game to have any chance of pipping them at the post
but after Hook had been asked to bat first they scored 90-3 so they could no longer win the title but they did go on to win the game, reaching 91-4 with two runs off the last ball of the game to finish in second spot, a tantalising five points behind.
It rounded off a close-fought season this year as the sad loss of Neyland and Llangwm actually strengthened Burton, Cresselly and the newly formed Johnston, as those who carried on playing spread around the three teams.
