Recognition for gentleman Al
After 33 years as treasurer of the Pembrokeshire Snooker League, Alan Gordon
finally handed in his immaculately-kept books at the recent annual general meeting.
He took over from the late Hubert Townsend in 1968 with the grand total of
£7.50 in the coffers. He soon had the financial footing of the league in
shape and left the position with a very healthy balance sheet.
Taking over from him will be Gareth Barrett, of the Royal British Legion
Club, Milford Haven.
As a thank you of his outstanding service to the league, secretary Malcolm
King presented Alan with a small memento for his many years’ service.
