Successful trophy night for the Warriors
The Cleddau Warriors football club held their fourth presentation evening last week as their players and coaches celebrated another wonderful season.
The club, which plays in the South West Wales Disability League organised by the FAW Trust, has had another successful season culminating in winning the Under 12 and Over 16 sections of the Disability League Festival held at Bridgend this summer.
Thirteen year old player Adele Bevan also won the South West Wales Girl Player of the Year Award.
At last week’s presentations at The Phoenix Bowl Milford Haven, the young footballers were presented with their medals by the club’s coaches Huw Bevan, Delwyn Lewis and Jason Sullivan.
The trophies, which are sponsored by Chevron, were awarded to:
Under 12 Player of the Year – Joel McWeeney
Under 12 Most Improved Player - Bernard Peters
Under 16 Player of the Year - Jamie Bevan
Under 16 Most Improved Player - Emma Martin
Over 16 Player of the Year - Jason Cole
Over 16 Most Improved Player - Lucy Hinksman
Over 16 Novice Player of the year – Ryan Walters
Angela Miles, Disability Sport Officer for Sport Pembrokeshire – Pembrokeshire County Council’s sports development arm - congratulated the club on its achievements and thanked the coaches, players and their families for their continued support.
The Club’s chairman Peter Surtees presented all the players with medals, and gifts were also presented to the coaches.
