A second half Nicky Woodrow equaliser earned Haverfordwest County a deserved draw with a quality Cardiff City outfit in front of a decent crowd at the Conygar Bridge Meadow Stadium.
The visitors led 1-0 at half time thanks to a looping header in the 41st minute by Josh Powell. The goal was created from a wicked free kick into the box by Jordan Jackson and was nodded in at the far post.
The home side squandered some good scoring opportunities. Nicky Woodrow blasted a shot high and wide. Richie Ryan also miscued from inside the box.
The visitors’ right sided midfielder Jackson looked menacing, one particular run took the Bluebirds by surprise as he ghosted into the box but the end result was a poor shot.

Timely equaliser

Substitute Alec Squires struck a 30-yard effort just wide of the target. Mickey Ellis’ team went for the victory, but the young City outfit played with a lot of heart and commitment and their touch and pace was exceptional.

Close call

Right at the death Jay Brockway had a glorious opportunity to score blocked by Richards, but a draw was the right result on the night.
