Pembrokeshire/Haverfordwest Football Academy:
Local players’ success in talent identification
FAW Academy Cymru Cup
The Football Association of Wales and the Welsh Football Trust will be hosting two days of talent identification for players in the FAW Academy Structure on 28th and 29th May, 2011.
Haverfordwest Academy players Daniel Evans (14) (goalkeeper) and Lloyd Hughes (14) (left-midfield) have been selected from trials for the squad to represent South Wales at a North Wales venue with the Howells School, Denbigh used at the residential base. This squad will play against squads from the other FAW Academies and a Welsh Football Trust selected squad of players with the 1997 year of birth.
Ben Pepper (13) (goalkeeper) did well to get as far as the second trial and remains a good prospect for the future.
Swansea City Centre of Excellence
Andrew Barnard (15) (goalkeeper) after initial trials is about to sign a registration form for inclusion in the Swansea City Centre of Excellence for a period starting with the 2011/2012 season.
Bernard Steer, Academy Administrator, said:
“These players have worked very professionally in the Academy and have shown what can be achieved by taking part in the skills programme put on weekly by all of our coaches.
“We wish all of these players every success in their chance to play at the next level.”
