Fixtures for 2nd April 2011
Division One (West):
Narberth v Waunarlwydd
Neyland are currently in a rich vein of form, scoring a heap of points in March and looking to smash a side currently in tenth spot in the table. Verdict: The Otters to win – and pouch a bonus point as well!Corus v Whitland
Whitland have done well of late and will be eager to win at Corus, who lost so heavily against Narberth last weekend. Verdict: The Borderers will push Corus hard but I think the Steel men will be stronger at home and eager to retain second place behind Bridgend.Division Three (West):
Haverfordwest v Dunvant
Haverfordwest are playing really well and will fancy their chances against third-placed Dunvant but the visitors will be eager to return to winning ways after defeat against Crymych. Verdict: I hope the Blues win well but I think they might just be edged out up front.Pontarddulais v Crymych
This is another tester for Crymych because although the Bont are in eighth place they are invariable a force to be reckoned with at home. Verdict: I think it will be played 17, won 17, for the Preseli Men after this one!Division Four (West):
Betws v Neyland
Betws are strong behind the scrum so Neyland will have to play well against a team five places higher than them in the table. Verdict: This is a tough one for the All Blacks and their travelling record so far isn’t all that good!Milford Haven v Aberaeron
These teams are respectively sixth and seventh in the table so a hard battle is prospect if one goes by the form book. Verdict: Milford played well in Neyland last Saturday and I expect them to repeat that result with home advantage against Aberaeron.Pembroke Dock Quins v Hendy
The Quins are still in the bottom two and desperate for a few results whilst Hendy are eighth, having won six out of 17 league games. Verdict: This is a game that the Quins can win – if they have a strong side out.Tenby United v Cefneithin
This is a top versus bottom mismatch where Tenby United have 12 wins from 13 starts and Cefneithin have won twice in 13 fixtures. Verdict: My banker bet this weekend – a big Tenby win!Trimsaran v Cardigan
Cardigan have played really well lately and a trip to Trimsaran should hold few terrors for the Teifisiders since Trimsaran are in ninth spot. Verdict: A win for Cardigan to please Hon sec Graham Rees, who was a Trim man in his younger days!Division Five (West):
Bynea v St Davids
Bynea and St Davids are in ninth and tenth places so it should be a hard-fought battle in which the Saints have a real chance. Verdict: I hope the Saints do well but I think they might just be squeezed out.Fishguard v Furnace
This is the match of the day in Pembrokeshire and could decide the silverware as Fishguard entertain Furnace. The Seagulls are undefeated whilst Furnace are in a rich vein of form and top the table but having played a match more. Verdict: It should be quite a tussle and I believe the Seagulls can soar if they have a full squad.Llangwm v Burry Port
Burry Port arrive at Pill Parks in fourth place whilst Llangwm have struggled badly with injuries over recent weeks. Verdict: I think Burry Port will win but I will be delighted if the Wasps prove me wrong!Penygroes v Pembroke
Pembroke must win if they are to stay in contention for a top-two finish but face a Penygroes side in sixth place and with home advantage. Verdict: I hope the Scarlets will win here, but they will have to be on top form up front.
