Fixtures for 22nd January 2011

Division One (West):

Narberth v Whitland
This eagerly-awaited return clash between such close neighbours sees Narberth aiming to gain revenge for a 28-12 defeat at Parc Llwyn Ty Gwyn in October. Both teams are short of match practice but the Otters have lost their last two league matches in disappointing fashion so Whitland will arrive at the Lewis Lloyd Ground looking for the double. Verdict: It could be close but I think that the Otters might just snatch the verdict on home soil!

Division Three (West):

Crymych v Llandeilo
Crymych remain undefeated and entertain a Llandeilo side which has won six and lost six so far to sit in mid table. Verdict: Crymych won 13-12 at Llandeilo and are favourites for this one by a bigger margin – but they can’t be complacent!

Haverfordwest v Gorseinon
Gorseinon won 29-16 at home but will find Haverfordwest in the mood for revenge at Merlins Bridge. Verdict: The Blues have some pacy backs and so if their pack can win enough possession I think they might just beat their third-placed opposition!

Division Four (West):

Cardigan v Cefneithin
Cardigan won by 14-13 at Cefneithin and they have so far won six out of nine games whilst the opposition are at the bottom of the table with just one win and one draw. Verdict: A banker bet – the Teifisiders to win comfortably!

Milford Haven v Tenby United
This should be a real battle because Tenby sit top of the table but Milford Haven have been greatly improved of late and are in confident mood at home. Verdict: The Seasiders to haul down the Mariners and gain the double after a 31-13 victory at Heywood Lane.

Neyland v Hendy
Neyland must start to climb the table and will be eager to start that process by beating Hendy at the Athletic Ground, gaining revenge for a 21-28 loss in Hendy. Verdict: This is definitely one that the All Blacks can win, especially if they welcome Mathew Williams back!

Trimsaran v Pembroke Dock Quins
These teams shared 42 points at Bierspool and this should be another close encounter where the Quins need points to climb out of the bottom two in the section. Verdict: Trimsaran are currently sixth and are likely to win this match!

Division Five:

Llandybie v Fishguard
Llandybie are always a tough prospect at home but Fishguard are used to winning and will be eager to repeat their 29-12 home success. Verdict: I hope the Seagulls fly high here and win their ninth match of the campaign to go with one draw.

Llangwm v Bynea
Llangwm have the chance of completing the double since they have already won at Bynea by 18-10 but they need to have a strong team out at Pill Parks to make sure of a fifth win. Verdict: The Wasps should win well against a Bynea side which has two wins and eight defeats so far!

Pontyates v Pembroke
Pembroke slammed Pontyates 59-0 at Crickmarren and the lowly opposition have so far lost all nine of their matches to sit firmly at the foot of the table. Verdict: My banker bet of the day, with the Scarlets sure to pouch a bonus point as well!

Swansea Uplands v St Davids
Another match where a Pembrokeshire side should win well away since St Davids beat Swansea Uplands by 50-0 at home. Verdict: The Uplands have only won twice and the Saints will be boosted by success against Llangwm last Saturday which will hold them in good stead for a comfortable win here.
