Bernardino beats the Expert to square matters
Bernie Armstrong beat the Expert 3-2 after Saturday's strange sequence of results. "I've got my bad week out the way," said the Expert. "We're are still level and with two weeks to go I am very confident that I'll put Bernardino in his place by then."
Beat the Expert – Bernie Armstrong Week Two:
Football fixtures for 15th January 2011
‘Bernardino’ is behind already
The Expert was delighted to edge ahead by a single point after the first week of fixture jousting with Bernie ‘Bernardino’ Armstrong, the Goodwick United manager who says that he was so good at scoring spectacular goals that he could almost be a Brazilian!
But The Expert showed respect for an opponent he has already beaten twice in successive seasons when he said after the matches last week that Mr A had clearly improved.
That still didn’t stop our main man contacting his mole at Armstrong Palace in Goodwick and discovering that his opponent is still trying to gain an unfair advantage.
“My informant tells me that Bernardino was locking himself in one of the ten toilets at the palace on the hill and refusing to come out until he had completed his choices – and was heard phoning the likes of Modesto Galdo, Chris Tansey and even Daisy Picton on his new Blackberry. Now what he doesn’t know is that I have already primed these ‘pals’ of his to lead him astray!”
“I was tempted to relax a little this week but now that I have been told that he will go to any lengths to win I have to make sure that he doesn’t succeed, otherwise he will boast even more than Daisy did!”
It looks like The Expert means business - so Bernardino – watch out on Saturday!

‘Bernardino’s’ Forecasts
Division One:
Goodwick United 2 - Merlins Bridge 1
My boys know that this is a very big game and they will be up for it, as will the Bridge after losing last week. I think we can just about pick up the points here, especially with home advantage.Herbrandston 1 - Pennar Robins 3
Pennar had a great win in the West Wales Cup last week and if they can repeat that form here they should run out clear winners.Hundleton 3 - Clarbeston Road 2
Hundleton pushed us all the way last Saturday and I think they might be too strong for Clarbie, although the away side had a good win last weekend.Johnston 1 - Haverfordwest County 4
Haverfordwest County are in top form – and did so well to win at The Racecourse in their last match – so I have to go for themNeyland 5 - Kilgetty 1
Neyland deserve their sixth place in the table and are very strong at home. They should win this one comfortably.Solva 3 - Narberth 1
Solva are another side who play well at home and they should be too strong for a struggling Kilgetty outfit.Tenby 2 - Hakin United 3
This is another match of the day, along with ours, and it could go either way. Tenby are second at the moment and Hakin are fourth but have games in hand. I have to stick with my old mate Gary Dawes and go for the Vikings to win!
