The Expert takes a slender 6-5 lead against 'Bernie the Bolt'

The Expert won 6-5 in a titantic tussle with 'Bernie the Bolt'. The Expert predicted the correct scoreline at Jesse Road, where Neyland won 2-1 at Narberth, and that result tipped the balance in the Expert's favour. Bernie has shown signs of improvement and could prove a tough nut to crack. The Expert said: "I'm going to have keep on my toes against Bernie, after losing twice against me in the past he is trying to pull out all the stops to topple the Expert."

Bernie Armstrong

‘Bernie the Bolt’ is in trouble – he knows he can’t win!

The Expert is itching to meet up again with his old ‘friend’ Bernard ‘The Bolt’ Armstrong and says he is very confident of slamming the Goodwick United boss, as he did last season.

As we said before Christmas, The Expert is already scathing of his opponent.

“He has been saved so far by the frost and snow,” snorted The Expert, ‘but hopefully that is behind us now so I can set about pulling him down and exposing his lack of real knowledge about Pembrokeshire Football.

“My mole at Armstrong Mansion tells me that he has bought himself a new lap-top over Christmas so that he can study the form of all the clubs in depth – and has had his much better half testing him on past results. What a waste of that lovely girl’s time!

“He’s even tried to contact other managers for’ insider’ information about their team selections but it won’t make any difference because when push comes to shove he knows deep down that I have the edge over him.

“So bring it on Mr Bolt – but don’t say you haven’t been warned – you haven’t got a chance!

‘Bernie the Bolt’s’ Forecasts

Division One:

Clarbeston Road 2 - Johnston 3
There’s usually lots of goals on Clarbie’s small pitch and I think Johnston will ease through there by the odd goal.

Goodwick United 3 - Hundleton 1
I know The Expert will bang on about us losing 6-0 at Hundleton but we learned a lot from that game and I am confident (but not over-confident!) that we will gain revenge.

Herbrandston 2 - Tenby 3
Herbie are playing well under my old pal Modesto Galdo (we were in school together!) but I think Tenby will still be just too strong.

Kilgetty 1 - Hakin United 5
This should be a banker bet for Hakin but I hope Kilgetty will snatch a goal to give me a better chance.

Merlins Bridge 2 - Haverfordwest County 2
I don’t normally sit on the fence but this is the top match of the day and too close to call. A point apiece would also suit us in this match!

Narberth 1 - Neyland 3
I’m going to go for something of a shock win here because I think Neyland will ease home by two goals!

West Wales Cup Third Round:

Giant’s Grave 3 - Solva 0
Giant’s Grave seems like a strong side in the Neath League and although Solva will battle all the way they might find this a trip too far for them.

Caewern 3 - Pennar Robins 1
It’s the same for Pennar because Caewern play well in the Neath League and are at home, which always helps in this competition.
