Beat the Expert – Chris Tansey Week Four:
Football fixtures for 4th December 2010

The Expert not likely to lose any sleep with Mr T's hopeless forecasts

Despite only two games of any note being played on Saturday, still Mr T failed to deliver the goods as he lost 3-1 against the Expert. Mr T once again let his heart rule his head as his beloved Hakin United lost 6-4 in a high scoring cup clash at the Obs. The Expert predicted that the Vikings would cruelly bow out and then to add insult to injury he got the score line correct in the only game played in Division One to win 3-1 and take a staggering 20-11 lead. "Does Mr T want to carry on next week?" taunted the Expert. " At least he did better than last week and got a point - hmm signs of improvement - but not enough to keep me awake at night."

Chris TanseyMr T’s refused a stewards’ enquiry – and is seven points adrift!

”The Expert widened the gap even further over Chris Tansey on the weekend although the Manderwood boss did ask for a steward’s enquiry as he went down by 3-0 in a weather-affected programme that saw only three of seven matches played.

Mr T told us . . .

“I have no complaints about my nil scoreline; although I’m convinced I would have had all the others right that were called off – but I believe that The Expert shouldn’t have two points for getting the score right between Solva and Hakin United. Indeed, Sean Hannon told me that Neyland used my forecast as a means of winding their team up after both The Expert and I had predicted 3-1 to Solva.”

The Expert was adamant, however, that he had correctly forecast the game and refused point-blank our pleas to show some generosity since he was so far ahead.

“That’s a typical Hakin win-at-all-costs ploy from when Mr T was manager and Sean Hannon will try to help his boss so that he gets on in work. I am prepared to give Mr T an extra week of suffering but that’s all he gets. He’s almost as bad as Daisy Picton for complaining when he’s losing fairly and squarely!”

“Not that Mr T has a chance – I see that he’s even forecasting the Goodwick game on the strength of Bernie Armstrong’s birthday numbers, and he might just as well pick the results out with a pin now that he’s really on the run. My mole at Manderwood’s told me that the ‘Do not disturb’ sign was on his door for the best part of Monday and my spy at home says he was in the loo for ages with the league tables and print-outs to see where the likes of Giant’s Grave come from. Dearie me – he might just as well let his old chum Daisy Picton pick them out for him!

Division One Fixtures (Scores to appear here on Saturday):

Goodwick United 5 - Kilgetty 0
Haverfordwest County v Merlins Bridge - postponed
Herbrandston v Clarbeston Road - postponed
Narberth v Hundleton - postponed
Tenby v Neyland - postponed

West Wales Cup:

Caewern v Pennar Robins - postponed
Giant’s Grave v Solva - postponed
Hakin United 4 - Swansea Dockers 6
Johnston v Lonlas - postponed

Chris Tansey’s Predictions

Division One:

Goodwick United 5 Kilgetty 1
It’s Bernie Armstrong’s 51st birthday on Saturday so I will go for a 5-1 win to celebrate my old pal’s big day!

Haverfordwest County 2 Merlins Bridge 3
Undoubtedly the match of the day and sure to be a close one! I thought long and hard about this and changed my mind a few times before plumping for the Bridge by the odd goal!

Herbrandston 3 Clarbeston Road 1
Herbrandston are playing better and another old pal in Modesto Galdo tells me that they will do well from now on – so I’ll go for them by two clear goals.

Narberth 2 Hundleton 1
This is the toughest match to predict – but I think home advantage might just give victory to Narberth.

Tenby 3 Neyland 1
I was under pressure from Sean Hannon to pick Neyland but I think Tenby will be too sharp for them!

West Wales Cup:

Caewern 1 Pennar Robins 2
Caewern play in the Neath Premier but I think Pennar might just edge this one – if they play at their best.

Giants Grave 4 Solva 1
Giants Grave are top of the Neath Premier and have also got a home tie – so I have to go for a clear-cut win here!

Hakin United 2 Swansea Dockers 1

The best team in Pembrokeshire against the best from the Swansea Senior League so something has to give here! I was going to go for the Dockers but I hope Hakin will go forward and win by the odd goal.

Johnston 2 Lonlas 0
I’m hoping that Johnston will be too strong here and help me pick up points at the same time!
