Beat the Expert: Week 2

Manderwood Mob fight back to draw with The Expert

The Manderwood Mob gained a creditable high-scoring 6-6 draw with the Expert after Saturday's results. The Expert impressively predicted six out of seven right, whilst the Manderwood Mob got five right, but they also predicted a right scoreline where their beloved Hakin United won 3-1 at Solva to give them maximum points. The Expert clings onto an overall 12-11 lead going into week three.

All the Manderwood Mob are good for is making the tea!

The Manderwood Mob are in confident mood that they can knock the cocky 'Expert' off his perch this week. They narrowly trail 6-5, as boys met for a cuppa break (and didn't tell boss Chris Tansey) to discuss their strategy for this week, and they have come up with some interesting predictions. Paul Chapman, a fine player for Hakin in his hey day, he used his calm authoritive manner to keep Dai Malloy and Shaun Mills from shouting out some ridiculous predictions. Sean Hannon was gutted his so-called work mates have chosen Johnston to beat his beloved Neyland. Rumour has it that Sean has had a sideline £5 bet with Skinny Harding, that the Nomads will hammer the Tigers 6-0. Easy money there then Skinny! The Expert can't help but laugh to himself about this so-called professional Motley Crew who believe they can beat him. "They should stick to doing what they do best," before anyone shouts out aloud. "The answer is of course making the tea - that's all this lot are good for - just ask Chris Tansey.” Anyway good luck to the boys this week, because they are going to need it!

The Manderwood Mob Predictions

Division One:

Clarbeston Road 1 - Haverfordwest County 4
We were unanimous about this scoreline because although Clarbie will play their hearts out we thought that the Haverfordwest would have too much fire-power for them.

Goodwick United 2 Pennar Robins 1
This is a tough match to predict because Pennar are a good side but Goodwick play well at home. But five of us went for a home win and Scott Davies went for the draw!

Hundleton 2 Tenby 2
This game took the longest to work out a score for, with Dai Malloy and Scott Davies going for a Tenby win and Skinny Harding picking Hundleton. The rest of us thought it should be a draw so we eventually sat on the fence!

Johnston 2 Neyland 1
Sean Hannon obviously thought Neyland would win 2-0 and Paul Chapman also went for the Nomads but three of us chose Johnston and so we picked the Tigers by the odd goal.

Kilgetty 0 Merlins Bridge 5
No doubt about this one for us. We all felt that the Bridge would be too strong for Kilgetty by a range of scoring from 6-0 (Paul Chapman) to 4-1 (Sean Hannon)

Narberth 4 Herbrandston 1
Same again here – we all agreed that Narberth would be too strong for a disjointed Herbie side which is going through a bad patch.

Solva 1 Hakin United 3
We were also unanimous on this match but thought that although Hakin would win there might not be too many goals in it at the sloping pitch at Maes y Mor
