The Expert returns with venom to gain a convincing win over 'Del Boy'
Despite two games called off in Division One, The Expert returned to winning ways as he gained a convincing 5-3 win over Derek 'Del Boy' Roberts, and take an overall 15-12 advantage. The Expert upset by the fact that he was beaten last week, returned with venom, and he even got the Goodwick United versus Merlins Bridge scoreline correct to add insult to injury. It's going to take a lot to topple the Expert now as he piled on the pressure and currently sits three points ahead of 'Del Boy' Roberts going into the final week. "He might as well concede defeat now," crowed the cocky Expert. "Now that Pricey isn't helping him - it just goes to show how good a forecaster he is - I'll sum it up in one word - 'rubbish'."
‘Del Boy’ pulls a point back on The Expert
Derek ‘Del Boy’ Roberts pulled a point back on The Expert last Saturday so that with two weeks left of their mini-competition Del Boy is only a single point behind.
Mr Roberts was understandably delighted and told us that he genuinely believed that he could win over a four-week period because he has the better footballing pedigree and a wealth of experience which comes with being a little older than The Expert.
This, of course, brought a snort of derision from The Expert, who told us on Monday,
“I hope this isn’t going to be like my farce with Matthew Price, where lots of games were called off because of the weather. Last weekend my three banker bets all fell foul of the heavy rain so I want a full programme of matches to go ahead – and then we’ll see what his so-called pedigree is all about.
“He also needs to know that if he pops over the fence for a conflab with ‘Pricey’ next door then my mole in the Roberts’ household will soon let me know. She’s already told me that this week he thought he had submitted his scores on Sunday when he spoke to my underling on Tuesday evening – so how can he be as sharp-brained as he would like us to believe.
“My problem is that I like the old duffer and his charming wife Buddug, and son Gethin too, but I think it is time to show that I can handle pressure and put Del Boy Robedrts firmly back in his place as an also-ran!”

Del Boy’s Deliberations
Division One:
Clarbeston Road 3 - Monkton Swifts 1
Both teams have been struggling to get a winning run started but I saw last week that Clarbie can score goals – so I’ll go for them by two goals!Neyland 2 - Solva 1
Neyland are playing well so I’ll go for them – but Solva are capable of upsetting the odds when they play well so it might be tight!Goodwick United 2 - Merlins Bridge 2
I don’t often sit on the fence but I will here because I can’t pick between two good sides. It is a fore-runner of the Senior Cup Final and I think there will be a few goals.Pennar Robins 3 - Prendergast Villa 1
Pennar should win this on form but it depends what sort of team they have on the day – although I have to go for them on current form.Herbrandston 1 - Narberth 2
I wouldn’t be surprised if Herbie snatch a win here but I have to go for Narberth because they played superbly to beat us a couple of weeks ago.Tenby 1 - Hakin United 3
This is another tough match to predict but I’ll go for Hakin despite them playing away and not having a game last weekend.Kilgetty 2 - Haverfordwest County 3
I have to go for my own team but we need to tighten up at the back after conceding four goals at Clarbie last week – but we should come away with three points although Kilgetty will push us all the way!The Expert’s Scorecasts
