Del Boy does his best but The Expert takes the early lead
The Expert showed his tipping skills to the full last Saturday as he took an early lead against Derek ‘Robbo’ Roberts in their four-week battle to see who could pick up most points for picking the winners of games played in the first division of the Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League.
With a point for tipping the right team, and with a bonus point added for getting the right scoreline, The Expert moved into a two-point lead but was quick to praise his opponent
“I was particularly pleased that this ‘Robbo’ chap had the good manners to see that his own Haverfordwest County side lost 2-1 so that I could claim a bonus point,” said The Expert, “but he did manage six points to my superb eight-point tally, which is no mean feat indeed. But I just made sure that I was on form because he might just nip over the garden fence now to get advice from that ‘Pricey’ fellow from Merlins Bridge, who lives next door, now that their cup match is over.
“I’ll be watching though, and I’m sure that nice Mrs Roberts will let me know if there is any cheating going on with that pair.”
When we spoke to Derek he was his usual calm self and just said he was still quietly confident because he thinks he now knows the identity of The Expert and so can exploit the weaknesses of the former footballer!

We need to bounce back from our defeat in the Senior Cup – and the boys are up for this match.Hakin United 6 - Monkton Swifts 0
The Swifts are really struggling at the moment so this could be a big win for Hakin if they take their chances.Kilgetty 0 - Solva 2
Solva are capable of beating most sides when they are on top form and so I go for them, although Kilgetty will battle hard.Merlins Bridge 3 - Herbrandston 1
The Bridge know that they can’t afford mistakes and although they will still be tired after the Senior Cup I think they will have too much fire-power for Herbie.Narberth 2 - Goodwick United 1
This could go either way but Narberth played really well against us so with home advantage they might just snatch the verdict.Pennar Robins 1 - Tenby 3
Pennar aren’t able to play the same squad each week so I think that Tenby should win this by two goals at Bush camp.Prendergast Villa 1 - Neyland 3
