Whitland travel to FelinfoelRugby Preview

6th March 2010

Division One (West):

Felinfoel v Whitland
Whitland beat Felinfoel by 20-13 at Parc Llwyn Ty Gwyn but have lost a little sparkle since then. Verdict: The Borderers will need to raise their recent tempo if they are to gain anything here!

Narberth v Bridgend Athletic
Narberth are in search of the double here since they won in Bridgend by 24-18 and on recent form they are capable of that. Verdict: The Otters to win this one if they are at their best!

Division Three (West):

Crymych v Llandeilo
A tough tussle between teams fourth and second in the section but the Preseli Men have home advantage so they could start as favorites. Verdict: Llandeilo won 16-11 at home and Crymych will gain revenge for that defeat.

Haverfordwest v Llanybydder
This is a game that Haverfordwest must win to retain their divisional status because Llanybydder are bottom of the table, with only one win from 13 starts. Verdict: The Blues won 74-0 in Llanybydder and should complete a double, plus a bonus point.

Llanelli Wanderers v Cardigan
Cardigan travel to Llanelli Wanderers having won at home by28-20 but they know this could be even tougher because they haven’t been at their best recently. Verdict: The Cardis will do well to pouch a bonus point here.

Division Four (West):

Amman United v Pembroke
Both teams sit in mid table when they should be higher, with Amman United having already won by 26-24 at Crickmarren. Verdict: The Scarlets should be long to win here but they are not the best of travellers so I go for Amman.

Pembroke Dock Quins v Tenby United
A local derby where nothing will be given way easily. The Quins caused an upset when they won 10-8 at Heywood lane but would do well to get anything from this one since the Seasiders have strengthened since then. Verdict: Another win for Tenby as they charge up the table.

Tumble v Milford Haven
This top of the table clash could go either way because they are very good teams at this level, with Tumble scraping home by 31-29 in Milford Haven, so the Mariners will be eager to avenge that reverse. Verdict: Sadly, I think Tumble will be too streetwise for the Mariners.

Division Five (West):

Furnace v Fishguard
The previous fixture was really tough before Fishguard eased home 13-5 so the question must be can the Seagulls quench the Furnace fire? Verdict: They sure can!

Llangwm v Neyland
A real local derby where Llangwm have home advantage but lost 69-0 at the Athletic Ground and are hot favourites to lose again. Verdict: The All Blacks will complete a high-scoring double over the Wasps, but not before Llangwm have provided some early sting!

St Davids v Pontyates
St Davids will be eager to return to action and will have targeted this as a home win after beating Pontyates 39-0 in the away game. Verdict: The Saints will march on in this one.
