Beat the Expert Feature:

Expert holds on to his precious two-point lead against Bevan Boys

After Saturday's league and cup results the Expert holds the upper hand as he leads by 9-7. Both the Expert and the Bevan boys didn't get a single point for their scorecasts from Division One - but they made amends by getting every Senior Cup clash right as it finished all square at 4-4. The Expert is in prime position going in to the third week of battle. The Expert said, "The Bevan boys might as well give up now, because they got no hope of beating me the master." You would think three against one is really unfair, but it will take an army to topple the Expert when he's in this kind of winning form. Bring it on!

The Expert moves ahead of the Bevan Boys

Huw Bevan & sons hope to do better this weekThe Expert showed that he is currently in a rich vein of tipping form as he eased through by 5-3 against the Bevan Boys from Clarbeston Road in the first round of their four-week battle, his correct forecast of Merlins Bridge’s 3-1 success over Hakin United making a major difference.

He was also in typically up-beat mood and quick to berate the opposition:

“I thought that Manderwood Mob were real dunces but this lot look even easier to beat. They let their hearts rule their heads by tipping Clarbie to win at Neyland – not a chance! Huw Bevan did a good job last season, although I smashed him in the end, but his two boys are clearly weighing him down. I see that one of them conceded another six goals on Saturday - I just wish that I was still playing because I would put the ball and him into the back of the net!

“Perhaps someone should remind those boys that the three Senior Cup matches have to be played to a conclusion so they can’t forecast a draw! My mole in the family tells me the three of them were straight home after their slamming in Neyland to work out scores for Saturday but it won’t do a bit of good because when I’m on top like this there is no way of stopping me, especially since they really think Clarbie are going to win this week at Prendergast Villa!”

Huw told us,

“We were beaten last Saturday but we hope to bounce back this weekend – it would be nice to shut The Expert up for once,” he said with a typical chuckle, “although I expect he would still have something to say about it!”

PembrokeshireSport.co.uk hopes the Bevan Boys bounce back this Saturday or The Expert will be even more unbearable than normal!

The Bevan Boys’ Predictions

Division One:

Herbrandston 2 - Neyland 3
I thought Herbie would win but I was outvoted by the boys and so we went for a narrow away win.

Monkton Swifts 2 - Kilgetty 1
We all agreed that this would be close but that home advantage would be the deciding factor.

Narberth 3 - Hakin United 2
Tom went for a draw but our final verdict was a home win since Hakin have players suspended,

Prendergast Villa 1 - Clarbeston Road 3
Here we go again! We all go for a Clarbie win and hope it won’t cost us this week!

Senior Cup Quarter Finals:

Tenby 2 - Goodwick United 3
I think Tenby might sneak it but the Boys outvoted me again – and Goodwick are in top form so they might well be right.

Camrose 1 - Merlins Bridge 4
We were unanimous about this one – the Bridge will have too much fire-power for Camrose.

Pennar Robins 2 - Hundleton 1
Can Hundleton make it three shocks in a row? Tom said yes but overall we went for Pennar’s experience and cup pedigree.

Solva 1 - Haverfordwest County 3
We were 100% together for this one – County to win by two clear goals.
