Beat the Expert Feature

23rd January 2010

Expert two points clear after high scoring draw with Manderwood Mob

The Expert ramains two points ahead after Saturday's full programme of results was completed for the first time in many months. Both got one scoreline correct - as it finished in a high scoring draw - six points each. As hard as the Manderwood Mob might try - they will never topple the Expert!

Manderwood MobThe Manderwood Mob remains in confident mood as they hope to take on The Expert for the second week after so many false starts because of the blinking weather!

The lads again have met over a cup of coffee to discuss the games, presided over by boss Chris Tansey, and as well as hoping to beat The Expert they are all aiming to win their own internal competition because they chip in some cash every week and with so many postponements the eventual winner will pocket a sizeable sum!

The Expert says since they can’t win with seven of them against one they should be ashamed of themselves and he says he should be given the money in the kitty so that he can donate it to a worthwhile cause!

Since he is clearly still full of the Christmas spirit it will be interesting to see if he gives them any gifts this weekend – but somehow we doubt it!

The Manderwood Mob’s Forecasts

Division One:

Hakin United 5 - Clarbeston Road 1
We all thought it would be a home win but with scores from 4-0 to 7-0 we decided we had to go for a big home win to make up lost ground on The Expert.

Kilgetty 1 - Prendergast Villa 1
We had three for a draw, one for a home win and three for a draw – so we sat on the fence for this one!

Merlins Bridge 3 - Haverfordwest County 1
Six home wins here whilst Sean Hannon went away (he’s desperate for points!)

Narberth 3 - Herbrandston 1
We were totally in agreement here and in the main thought it would be by two goals.

Neyland 2 - Monkton Swifts 1
Five thought a home win, one a draw and Dai Malloy felt the Swifts might sneak it (he’s also desperate for points!)

Pennar Robins 2 - Goodwick United 1
Dai Malloy went for another away win here but we had four for a home win and two draws – but overall we thought home advantage would be important.

Solva 2 - Tenby 1
Five of us went for the safe option of a home win but Chris Tansey and Sean Hannon went for the draw because Solva have played well of late (more wishful thinking?)
