‘Beat The Expert’ feature: Week 6 : football fixtures for 5th December 2009
Confident Pricey beats the Expert and now he's gunning for league title
Pricey held onto his two-point advantage to beat The Expert this week, despite it finishing 2-2 on the day. The Expert congratulates Pricey on his success, but if it wasn't for the awful weather The Expert still thinks he would have beaten him. Pricey becomes only the second tipster to beat The Expert, the only other defeat was suffered against Daisy Picton, but The Expert gained sweet revenge over Daisy at the tale end of last season. The Expert predicts that he'll beat Pricey in a re-match - possibly if he agrees they could pitch their wits against each other in a winner takes all finale near the end of this season. The Expert said that the weather won't help him then - but no sour grapes. Well done Pricey you proved you're a top tipster! Pricey can now concentrate all his efforts in leading his team Merlins Bridge to the Division One title and the Wizards may even win the double, that's Pricey's kind of luck!
Pricey agrees to an extra week because of bad weather
Matthew Price showed that he is a good sport as he immediately agreed to play an extra week against the Expert as bad weather had again played a part in last week’s local football. Pricey, in confident mood, is now very sure that he can win well in this final week with his two-point advantage. The Expert needs to draw on all his skill if he is to snatch the verdict out of the fire in this, the final week. Both contestants have agreed to start with a clean sheet and new predictions for matches previously cancelled.
And Pricey will admit that he is under a little pressure because he will not be able to draw on the experience of next door neighbour Derek ‘Del Boy’ Roberts, the canny manager of Haverfordwest County’s Pembrokeshire League side, because their teams are playing each other on Saturday and so there is no friendly chatter over the garden fence or over a coffee this week!
The Expert said it didn’t matter anyway because his greater experience and tipping skills will pay dividends.
“If it hadn't been for so many games being postponed I would have definitely finished Pricey off by now.
“Pricey is so frightened that he has gone for the form horses again on Saturday but I’ll go for the jugular – as he will find out!”
So will Pricey keep his composure now that the pressure is really on? Or will the Expert judge it to perfection, as he has done before, and pip Pricey at the finish line? All will be revealed after Saturday’s final showdown!

Pricey (on his own for once!)
West Wales Cup:
CMB 0 - Narberth 2
I have to stick with this scoreline. Neither side has played much so it could go either way.Morriston 2 - Neyland 0
Home advantage is so important so although I hope Neyland win I think Morriston might be too strong for them.Pennar Robins 1 - Hakin United 2
This should be a cracking match because Hakin are so strong in away games and Pennar are also a good side – but I think the Vikings will sneak it!Division One:
Goodwick 3 - Herbrandston 1
Goodwick’s league form at home has been poor whilst Herbie have been playing better – but I’ll still go for Goodwick in this one.Merlins Bridge 3 - Haverfordwest County 1
This is another real toughie for us but we have prepared well so I am confident we can grab the win we need.Kilgetty 2 - Clarbeston Road 0
Clarbie have really struggled in their last few matches so I think Kilgetty might just win this match.Solva 1 - Tenby 2
On paper it looks an easy win for Tenby but I wouldn’t be surprised if Solva win – but I have to go on form since I am two points clear of The Expert!Senior Cup:
Hundleton 2 - Prendergast Villa 1
I had gone for the Villa at home but now that the fixture has been reversed I think Hundleton will win.The Expert’s Scorecasts:
