Matthew Price on a winning streak‘Beat The Expert’ feature: Week 3

7th November 2009 Fixtures

‘Pricey’ canes The Expert – with a little neighbourly help!

The Expert took one hell of a beating last Saturday, losing 5-2 as Pricey took a 9-7 overall lead after the second week.
The Expert conceded gracefully, but has vowed to bounce back with a vengeance this week. Not that the Expert holds any grudges or sour grapes against Pricey, but a mole in the camp now knows he is playing not just against Pricey but Haverfordwest County manager Derek Roberts, who also is having his say as the two neighbours meet every week to discuss what they think the results at the weekend will go.

“I’m only using the resources at my disposal, as any good manager would,” said Pricey with a chuckle.

Well it could be a classic case of two great minds think alike, but it will only add to confusion as the Expert will use his full range of skill and superior knowledge  to crush Pricey like a 'sour grape' and show him exactly who is the boss over the next couple of weeks.

Division One (Results to appear here on Saturday):

Herbrandston v Tenby

Kilgetty v Goodwick

Monkton Swifts v Haverfordwest County

Solva v Prendergast Villa

West Wales Cup:

Calsonic Kansei v Hakin United

CMB v Narberth

Johnstown v Neyland

Kilvey v Merlins Bridge

Trimsaran v Pennar Robins

Wales Tartan v Clarbeston Road

Pricey and Co’s Predictions

Division One:

Herbrandston 1 - Tenby 3
On paper it seems an easy win for Tenby but Herbie won well last weekend and will be up for this one – so it could be close.

Kilgetty 1 - Goodwick 2
Kilgetty have improved lately and Goodwick have suffered a couple of surprise defeats, but should just about edge this one.

Monkton Swifts 1 - Haverfordwest County 3
The Bluebirds have started to play really well and could have a strong squad for this one so they should be too strong for the Swifts at the moment.

Solva 1 - Prendergast Villa 1
This is the toughest match of the lot to predict because the Villa are beginning to believe in themselves and Solva are inconsistent – So I’ll sit on the fence for this one!

West Wales Cup:

Calsonic Kansei 0 - Hakin United 3
Calsonic are 11th in the Carmarthenshire top section having lost all seven matches so Hakin should win this one comfortably.

CMB 0 - Narberth 2
CMB are top of the Neath League’s second section so they might just be a good team – and have home advantage so I have to pick them but I hope Narberth win.

Johnstown 2 - Neyland 0
Johnstown are seventh in the Carmarthenshire Premier League whilst Neyland are going through a bad run so I have to go for Johnstown in this one.

Kilvey 1 - Merlins Bridge 3
Kilvey are sixth in the Swansea League Division Two with three wins out of seven so although we won’t be over-confident we are looking for a win from our trip up the line.

Trimsaran 0 - Pennar Robins 3
Pennar start as hot favourites for this match because Trimsaran play in the second division in Swansea and have only won twice in seven starts.

Wales Tartan 2 - Clarbeston Road 1
Clarbie should be favourites for this match against a team who play in Division Three in Swansea and have only won once in six games so far, but I have a feeling they might just be overturned here.
