Bernie ArmstrongBeat the Expert Week 4

Football fixtures for Saturday, 17th October 2009

Welcome back to our ‘Beat the Expert’ feature after two weeks of cup activity and now Bernie Armstrong has just this week where he can catch up the two-point deficit he suffered over the three previous weeks.

The Goodwick United manager is in confident mood after appearing on Radio Pembrokeshire and forecasting Hakin’s shock demise at Hundleton in the Senior Cup, last Saturday.

But The Expert remains unconvinced because his sources tell him that Bernardo privately admitted that he had only tipped Hundleton because he didn’t want to offend their manager Mark Powell, who is a good pal of his.

“Mr Armstrong has got just the face for radio,” said The Expert, “ so let’s see if he appears next week to admit that he lost to me for the second year running. My mole in his family tells me that he was hours working out his scores in his special folder that only he is allowed to touch – but it will do him no good because he is doomed to lose again.”

Division One Results (placed here on Saturday evening):

Goodwick United 1 - Clarbeston Road 3

Hakin United 6 - Haverfordwest County 0

Herbrandston 1 - Merlins Bridge 4

Pennar Robins 1 - Narberth 1

Prendergast Villa 6 - Kilgetty 1

Solva 1 - Monkton Swifts 4

Tenby 4 - Neyland 0

Bernard Armstrong’s Scorecasts:

Goodwick United 3 Clarbeston Road 1
We were really chuffed with our Senior Cup win at Monkton and I think our boys will be up for this league match – and we should have too much fire-power for Clarbie Road.

Hakin United 2 Haverfordwest County 1
Gary Dawes will want his Hakin boys to really focus after their shock Cup defeat and although Haverfordwest County have been playing well I think the Vikings will edge it by the odd goal.

Herbrandston 1 Merlins Bridge 4
I spoke to Matthew Price on Saturday night and told him I want him to win by three goals at Herbie so I hope the Wizards are on to form because this is my banker bet!

Pennar Robins 2 Narberth 4
Narberth are the in-form team so that although the Robins are strong at home I think that Richard Adams and co will have too much fire-power for Chrissie Lloyd’s boys.

Prendergast Villa 0 Kilgetty 4
The Villa had their first win last week so will be up for it in this match at home on their tight pitch – but Mike Beynon is in form for Kilgetty and I go for them to win in style.

Solva 4 Monkton Swifts 1
We beat Monkton last week and it is very hard to play on Solva’s pitch so I think that the result of this match should see Solva win by three goals.

Tenby 5 Neyland 0
Mike Lewis had developed an excellent squad at Tenby and although Neyland can take on anyone I think that they will find it very hard going at The Clicketts.

The Expert’s Scores:

Goodwick United 3 - Clarbeston Road 1

Hakin United 2 - Haverfordwest County 0

Herbrandston 1 - Merlins Bridge 3

Pennar Robins 2 - Narberth 3

Prendergast Villa 1 - Kilgetty 2

Solva 3 - Monkton Swifts 1

Tenby 4 - Neyland 1

Final totals:           Bernie: 16 The Expert: 17
