The Pembrokeshire County Primary Schools Football Squad recently held their end of season presentation at Heatherton and celebrated a remarkable season where they played so well throughout South Wales and in the finals at North Wales
Local football star Elliot Scotcher (Cardiff City and Wales Under 16’s Schools) gave out certificates to those boys who played in the Welsh Schools Finals at Porthmadog and then every player was presented with a County Schools Boot Bag as a reward for being part of the squad. This was the first year the coaching was done under the umbrella of Haverfordwest County and the regular training sessions paid off.
Several members of the squad have already been selected for the Haverfordwest Academy Under 12’s side with a few still eligible to play for the squad next year. Over 67 boys attended the recent trials held at Haverfordwest for next year’s squad so interest in being selected for the County Schools Squad is very high.
Coach Angie Nicholls would like to thank fellow coaches Mark Hicks and Bernard Steer, the boys and their parents for their commitment, Wimpy of Haverfordwest for their continued sponsorship, plus Elliot Scotcher and Charles Davies of Heatherton.
