Pembrokeshire Primary Schools march on in Tom Yeoman Shield
Pembrokeshire Primary Schools Football Squad played Rhonnda Cynon Taf Schools in the third round of the Welsh Schools’ campaign on a very cold and icy day.
With the Astroturf pitch just about playable Pembrokeshire turned on the heat to once again pick up all twelve points on offer and remain unbeaten so far in the competition.
Pembrokeshire A 2 Rhondda Cynon Taf 1
The Pembrokeshire side started off playing some neat football with captain Scott Jones opening the score. George Taylor and Luke Raymond passed the ball well in tricky conditions with Frazer James, Matthew Dickinson and Harry Goforth all defending bravely. Jack Parkinson added the second in the second half and Jack Broadhurst made some good saves before RCT got back a consolation goal. Harry Rowlands made a good debut and contributed well to the team’s performance.
Pembrokeshire A 5 Rhondda Cynon Taf B 0
This game was much closer affair in the first half, but Pembs dominated the second with Scott Jones scoring a hat-trick and Ben Aldred scoring two very good individual goals. The whole team played some very impressive football and were rewarded with three points.
Pembrokeshire B 2 Rhondda Cynon Taf B 1
Both sides played some very skilful football on a difficult pitch, but Pembs went two goals ahead in the first half through Patrick Pearce and Luke Billing. Jake Davies played his usual solid game with Tom Dyson covering a lot of ground. Nathan Ammesley-Rees and Daniel Williams looked strong in defence and keeper Thomas Evans kept Pembs in the match with some braves saves. Jordan Griffiths and Alfie Stotter both played well in their debut match.
Pembrokeshire B 3 Rhondda Cynon Taf
Pembs started off well with a strong shot by Dafydd Bevan hitting the crossbar. RCT responded with a quick break away and scored. The Pembs boys did not take this lying down and piled pressure on the RCT goal. Daniel Williams scored the equaliser and then Patrick Pearce scored twice more, making it another clean sweep for the Pembs Squad.
Well done lads!
