The tipster
Every month we will ask a local pundit to forecast all the Division One football scores in opposition to our resident expert. There will be a point awarded for each correct result and two points for the correct scoreline. We start off with effervescent Goodwick United manager Bernie Armstrong – see if you agree with his views and watch out at the end of the month to see if he really can beat the expert!
First Division Fixtures:
Tuesday 2nd September, 2008
Goodwick United 3 Hakin United 1
Herbrandston 1 Carew 1
Kilgetty 4 Haverfordwest County 2
Monkton Swifts 2 Clarbeston Road 0
Neyland 2 Merlins Bridge 5
Narberth v Solva - postponed
St Ishmaels 1 Pennar Robins 3
Bernie Armstrong’s Scorecasts:
Goodwick United 2 Hakin United 2
It will be close but I think early season will see us sharing the spoils
Herbrandston 2 Carew 1
A tough game to forecast but I think Herbie will edge their way through
Kilgetty 1 Haverfordwest County 2
The new boys might find it hard going to start so I think County will just have the edge.
Monkton Swifts 2 Clarbeston Road 2
This might surprise some people but Clarbie could do well this season.
Neyland 3 Merlins Bridge 1
I know people will think I’m mad but Neyland are a useful team and the Bridge have lost a few key players.
Narberth 2 Solva 2
Two useful sides – and a share of the spoils to start!
St Ishmaels 1 Pennar Robins 4
I saw the Robins play in the Eddie Merry Cup and they are a good side – and could upset Tish from the start.
